A residential move is any relocation from one home to another. It covers the full spectrum from a one-bedroom rental to a family house — as long as the volume fits within our van + driver model.

The types of residential moves we handle most often:

Apartment to apartment. The most common residential move in the Netherlands. Switching rentals within the same city, upsizing from a studio to a two-bedroom, or downsizing after a relationship change.

Rental property transitions. The Dutch rental market moves fast. Contracts end, new ones begin — often on the 1st of the month. Many residential moves are driven by lease timelines rather than choice, and they need to happen on a specific date.

We arrive at your current address with a clean, spacious moving van. We load your packed belongings and furniture into the van. We drive to your new address. We unload everything at your new entrance.

What is included: the van, the driver, loading from your prepared items, the drive, and unloading at the destination.

What is not included: packing materials, furniture disassembly or assembly, specialist handling for pianos or antiques, storage, or carrying items through building interiors (hallways, stairwells). You pack and prepare — we transport.

The base rate is €49 per hour for the van and driver. Fuel costs are calculated separately based on the driving distance between your current address and your new one.

What determines the final cost:

Total time — from the moment the driver arrives until the last item is unloaded at your new home

Distance — the driving distance between the two addresses (affects fuel)

Volume — the number of boxes, bags, and furniture items (affects loading/unloading time)

Access — can the van park close to the entrance? Is there an elevator? How far is the walk from door to van?

Preparation — are items packed, stacked at the door, and ready? Or still being organised when the driver arrives?

We provide a clear estimate before you confirm. No hidden fees, no minimum packages beyond 1.5 hours.

Studio or one-bedroom apartment (same city): 1.5–2 hours. Time: €73.50–€98, + fuel and van. Total: approximately €112–€142.

Two-bedroom apartment (same city): 2–3 hours. Time: €98–€147, fuel + van. Total: approximately €142–€167.

Small house or large apartment (same city): 3–4 hours, possibly two van loads. Time: €147–€196, fuel + van. Total: approximately €167-€220.

Intercity apartment move (e.g. Amsterdam → Utrecht, Den Haag → Rotterdam): 2.5–3.5 hours. Time: €122.50–€171.50, fuel + van. Total: approximately €220–€260.

Longer intercity house move (e.g. Rotterdam → Eindhoven, Amsterdam → Zwolle): 4–5 hours. Time: €196–€245, fuel and van. Total: approximately €280–€340.

These assume items are packed and ready. The single biggest cost factor you control is preparation. Every minute the driver spends waiting for packing to finish is a minute on the clock.

This service is the right fit when:

Your belongings are packed. Boxes taped, bags closed, furniture disassembled where possible. You have done the preparation and you need efficient transport.

Your home has a manageable volume. One to three bedrooms of belongings, fitting in one or two van loads. This covers the vast majority of apartments and smaller houses in the Netherlands.

This service is not the right fit when:

You need a full packing crew. If your belongings are not packed and you need someone to wrap, box, and organise everything — a traditional moving company with packing services is the better choice.

Your home has very high volume. A five-bedroom house with a full garage, garden furniture, and 80+ boxes may require a larger truck and multiple movers. We can discuss feasibility, but for very large homes a traditional mover is likely more efficient.

End of month / start of month: the busiest period, every month. Most Dutch rental contracts start and end on the 1st. The last two days and first two days of each month see the highest demand. Book at least a few days ahead during these windows.

Summer (June–August): peak moving season. Longer days, better weather, and the overlap of graduation moves, family relocations during school holidays, and lease turnover. This is the hardest period to get same-day availability.

January–February: a secondary peak driven by new-year lease changes, semester starts, and people executing moves they planned over the holidays.

Mid-month, mid-week: the quietest periods. Tuesday through Thursday, in the middle of the month, is when availability is highest and same-day bookings are most likely.

Key handover deadlines: many Dutch moves are driven by specific key handover times — you must return keys to your old landlord by noon, and you can access your new place from 2pm. We schedule around these deadlines when you share them at booking.

Pack everything before moving day. All items in closed boxes or bags. Label rooms if possible (kitchen, bedroom, living room). Do not leave packing for the morning of the move — it always takes longer than you think.

Disassemble furniture the night before. Bed frames, desks, tables with removable legs, shelving units. Keep screws in labelled bags taped to the frame. Disassembled furniture loads dramatically faster than assembled pieces.

Move boxes to the entrance. The closer your items are to the van, the faster loading goes. Stack boxes in the hallway, at the door, or in the garage if you have one.

Handle parking in advance. In Dutch city centres, parking is regulated. Check whether you need a temporary loading permit. In residential suburbs, parking is usually free and available. Share parking conditions when booking.
