Haarlem Storage — Time to Decide, Without the Deadline

MoverMate stores belongings collected in Haarlem for €15 a week for a room load and €30 a week for a studio or one-bedroom load, with a two-week minimum. A lot of our Haarlem storage bookings are not about the customer's own move at all. They are about someone else's home, usually a parent's. A move into care, or a house that has to be emptied after a death. The house has a date on it — a sale, a landlord, a housing association — and the family has not yet decided who keeps what. Often the people deciding live in three different cities.

Storage separates those two problems. The house gets emptied on time. The decisions get made later, when there is room to make them properly.

The houses themselves, mostly. A lot of Haarlem's family housing dates from the 1920s and 1930s — Kleverpark, the Ramplaankwartier, Haarlem-Zuid, the streets toward Heemstede and Bloemendaal. They are good houses and slow ones to empty.


Narrow hallways and front doors. Older houses often have a door and hallway that large furniture only just fits through — which it did on the way in, forty years ago, sometimes before a later renovation narrowed the route.

Parking in the older districts. The centre and the streets around it are tight, and parking arrangements differ by area. Tell us the street when you book and we will check where the van can stop.

Schalkwijk and the newer parts of Haarlem-Noord load quickly, with wider streets and parking close to the door.

€15 a week for a room load — a bed, a chair, a wardrobe's contents and 10 to 15 boxes. €30 a week for a studio or one-bedroom load. Two-week minimum, no deposit, no admin fee, nothing to pay when things come back out. A full family house is usually more than either load; send a walk-through video and we quote it properly before anything is booked.

Collection and redelivery are separate jobs at €49 an hour with a 1.5-hour minimum of €73.50, plus transport. Because the storage space is about fifty minutes away, a Haarlem collection usually runs 2.5 to 3 hours of van time — around €122.50 to €147 for a single load.

Nothing is payable when you book, and you are not committing to a duration.

All of it, and the towns around it. Centrum and the Oude Stad, Kleverpark, the Ramplaankwartier, Haarlem-Zuid, Haarlem-Noord, Schalkwijk and Zuidwest are all routine. We also collect from Heemstede, Bloemendaal, Overveen, Zandvoort, Velserbroek and Hillegom.

Care homes and assisted-living buildings are part of this too. If a parent is moving into a smaller room and only part of their furniture goes with them, we can collect the rest from the house in the same booking, or deliver the pieces they are keeping to the new room.

We reply with the storage rate and the van cost, usually the same day. On collection day we go through everything with whoever is there, photograph it, and send the list before driving off.

When the family has agreed who takes what, send us the addresses and we plan the deliveries.

A week's notice is comfortable. If the house has a fixed handover date, book as soon as you know it.
